A patient can be registered on the Hospice Programme by a family member/ hospital/ clinic or private/government practitioners. We require a referral form from the attending doctor, regarding the diagnosis and staging of the disease. After discussion in our interdisciplinary team we will determine if the patient falls within our admission criteria.

We assist with pain and symptom control as well as provide supportive care to the family.

Our Palliative Care trained sisters will then assess the patient at home, in hospital, or at a frail care facility. Treatment and care is undertaken in accordance with the needs of the patient. We assist with pain and symptom control (in consultation the patient’s medical practitioner), as well as provide supportive care to the family. Due to limited resources we cannot offer 24-hour nursing care, however we can assist patients with information on available facilities and nursing agencies.
